Terms of Service

Last updated: September 24, 2026

These terms are adapted from the Basecamp open-source policies, used under CC BY 4.0.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service govern your use of Juscribe — the web application at app.juscribe.ai, the mobile apps, the API, the jus command-line tool, and the juscribe.ai website (together, the “Service”). The Service is operated by Juscribe, Inc., which does business as “Juscribe” (“Juscribe”, “we”, “us”).

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company or other organization, you confirm you have the authority to do so, and “you” means that organization.

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why. It is part of this agreement.

2. Who can use Juscribe

Juscribe is a workplace tool. It is intended for use by businesses and organizations, for business purposes, and not for consumer purposes. Paid plans are sold only to customers buying on behalf of a business or organization. The free tier is open to anyone.

You must be at least 16 years old. You must give us accurate information when you sign up and keep it current. One person, one account — you may not share a login, and you may not create an account on someone else's behalf without their knowledge.

You may not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under the laws of the United States or of the country you are in.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password and your API tokens secret, and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think either has been exposed. We cannot and do not recover lost passwords for you beyond the normal reset flow.

If you belong to an organization on Juscribe, its administrators can see, change and delete the work you do inside it, and can remove you from it. That is how shared workspaces work, and it is worth knowing before you put something private into one.

4. Agents, bots and the API

Juscribe is built to be driven by software. You may create agent accounts, issue API tokens, and point AI coding assistants and other automated tools at your workspaces. That is the product working as intended, not an exception to it.

In return, three things:

  • You own what your agents do. An action taken by an agent you created, or by a token you issued, is your action under these terms. “The agent did it” is not a defence, and neither is a prompt injection you did not anticipate.
  • Keep your agents inside your own account. Do not use the API or an agent to reach data belonging to workspaces or organizations you are not a member of.
  • Be reasonable with volume. We may rate-limit, throttle or suspend a token that degrades the Service for other people. Where we can do that with warning, we will; where a request pattern is taking the Service down, we may not be able to.

We may change the API. We will avoid breaking it needlessly and will give notice of a breaking change where we can, but no endpoint is guaranteed to stay as it is forever.

5. Your content

Your tickets, comments, projects, attachments and everything else you put into Juscribe stay yours. We claim no ownership of them.

You give us permission to store, copy, transmit and display that content only so far as we need to in order to run the Service for you — serving it back to your browser, backing it up, showing it to the teammates you shared it with, and indexing it so search works. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups that age out on their normal cycle.

We do not use your content to train machine-learning models, ours or anyone else's, and we do not sell it. If we ever want to, we will ask you first and you will be free to say no.

Storage. Each plan includes an allowance for attachment storage, shown where you choose the plan and in your organization's settings. When an organization reaches it, new uploads are refused until files are deleted or the plan changes. Nothing already stored is deleted, and everything else keeps working.

The Service itself — the software, the design, the name and the logo — belongs to us. These terms give you the right to use it, not to copy it.

6. What you may not do

Do not use Juscribe to:

  • Reach accounts, workspaces or data that are not yours, or try to.
  • Break, probe or work around the Service's security, rate limits or access controls.
  • Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent who or what an agent account is.
  • Upload malware, or anything designed to damage or covertly track another user.
  • Place a burden on the Service that interferes with other people using it.
  • Harass, threaten or abuse other users — or us.
  • Store or share content that is illegal where you are, or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Resell or white-label the Service without a written agreement with us.

If you see someone doing any of this, tell us at [email protected].

7. Paying for Juscribe

The free plan and paid plans. You can use Juscribe on the free plan without paying anything. Nothing in this section applies to your account unless you subscribe to a paid plan. We will publish what each plan costs, and say clearly that plans are available, before anyone is charged anything.

Who paid plans are sold to. Paid plans are sold only to customers buying on behalf of a business or organization, on the terms set out in section 2.

Starting a paid plan. When you subscribe, you authorise us to charge your payment method the plan's fee in advance, at the start of each billing period, and to keep doing so each period until you cancel. Plans renew automatically. Card details are held by our payment processor, not by us.

A charge you do not recognise. Write to [email protected] before disputing it with your bank, and we will sort it out.

Changing your plan. When you move to a different plan, when that move takes effect depends on which way it goes. A move up — to a higher plan, or from monthly to annual billing on the plan you already hold — takes effect straight away: we credit the unused part of what you have already paid, invoice the difference, and charge it then rather than at your next renewal. A move down — to a lower plan, or from annual to monthly billing on the plan you already hold — takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep everything you are paying for until then, and there is nothing to refund, because nothing changes before that date.

Taxes. Prices exclude sales tax, VAT and similar taxes unless we say otherwise at checkout. Where we are required to collect them, we add them to your charge; where we are not, paying them is your responsibility.

If a payment fails, we will retry it and email you. If it is still unpaid after at least 14 days, we may move your account to the free tier or suspend access to paid features. We will not delete your content over an unpaid invoice — section 9 is the only thing that deletes content.

Price changes. We may change our prices. For a plan you already hold we will give at least 30 days' notice by email before the new price applies, and it takes effect at your next billing period. If you do not want to pay it, cancel before then.

Cancelling a paid plan. You can cancel at any time from your account settings, without emailing us — or by emailing [email protected] if you cannot sign in. On a monthly plan, cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for, and you keep paid features until then. On an annual plan, the paragraph below says when it takes effect and what comes back. Cancelling a plan is not the same as deleting your account — section 9 covers that.

The annual plan’s term. An annual plan runs for an initial term of twelve months, paid in advance. After that it continues indefinitely rather than for a further fixed term: you can cancel on any day, and the cancellation takes effect no more than one month later. Where you have already paid in advance for a renewal year, we refund the whole months of it you have not used. The initial twelve months are not refundable, except under the withdrawal right described below. Monthly plans are unchanged.

Refunds. Cancelling stops future charges. On a monthly plan, and during an annual plan’s initial twelve months, it does not refund the period you are already in. On an annual plan after that, it refunds the unused whole months as described above. Write to [email protected] and we will arrange it.

If consumer protection law reaches you anyway. Paid plans are sold to businesses, but if you are someone a consumer protection law nevertheless covers, nothing here takes that away. You have fourteen days from subscribing to withdraw and receive a full refund, and you have the pro-rata refund described above. Ask us at [email protected] and we will do it.

8. Changes to the service

We may add, change or remove features at any time. Where a change removes something you rely on, we will try to say so in advance through the Service or by email. We may also stop offering the Service altogether — in that case we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your content before it goes.

9. Leaving

You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from the web app or the mobile app. You do not need to email us and we will not try to talk you out of it. How to delete your account has the steps.

Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. It removes your identity and everything private to you: your name, email, password, profile photo, sign-in history, API tokens and sessions, notifications, bookmarks, reactions, and any agents you created. Organizations where you were the only member are deleted with you.

Work you contributed to a shared organization stays, with your name replaced by “Deleted user”. We keep the shared record because destroying a departing member's contributions would turn one person's decision into data loss for everyone they worked with. The Privacy Policy describes this in full.

10. Suspension by us

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that puts the Service or its users at risk, or that we are required to act on by law. Where the circumstances allow it we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right. Where they do not — an active attack, a legal order, abuse directed at a person — we may act immediately.

We may also close accounts that have been inactive for a long time. We will email you before doing so.

11. Privacy

What we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to turn analytics off are all set out in the Privacy Policy. In short: we collect what the Service needs, our analytics are self-hosted and cookieless, and we do not sell your personal information.

A small number of people at Juscribe can access account data where it is necessary — to answer a support request you sent, to fix a fault, to investigate abuse, or where the law requires it. Not otherwise.

12. Copyright complaints

If you believe something on Juscribe infringes your copyright, write to [email protected] with enough detail to identify the work and the material you are complaining about, where to find it, your contact details, and a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized. We will respond, and we may remove the material and close accounts that infringe repeatedly.

13. Other people's software

Juscribe connects to third-party services — the AI coding tools you point at it, code hosts, and the infrastructure we run on. Those services have their own terms, and we do not control them. We are not responsible for what they do with data you send them directly, and an integration existing is not an endorsement.

14. The App Store

This section applies only to the Juscribe app for iPhone obtained from the Apple App Store, and only to your use of that app. It does not change anything above, which continues to govern the Service everywhere else.

  1. This agreement is with us, not Apple. These terms are concluded between you and Juscribe, Inc. only. Apple is not a party to them, and we — not Apple — are solely responsible for the app and its content.
  2. What the licence covers. We grant you a non-transferable licence to use the app on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions — except that the app may also be accessed and used by other accounts associated with yours through Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
  3. Support is ours. We are solely responsible for any maintenance and support for the app. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to provide either.
  4. Warranty. We are solely responsible for any product warranties, whether given by us or implied by law, to the extent they are not effectively disclaimed. If the app fails to conform to a warranty that applies to it, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund you the purchase price of the app. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation of any kind, and any other claim, loss, liability, damage, cost or expense arising from a failure to conform to a warranty is our sole responsibility.
  5. Claims about the app. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim you or a third party makes about the app or your possession or use of it — including product liability claims, a claim that the app fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation.
  6. Intellectual property claims. If a third party claims that the app, or your possession and use of it, infringes their intellectual property rights, we — not Apple — are solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
  7. Where you are. You represent and warrant that you are not located in a region subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or one the U.S. Government has designated a “terrorist supporting” region, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  8. Who to contact. The app is published by Juscribe, Inc. Questions, complaints and claims about it should go to [email protected].
  9. Other people’s terms still apply. You must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the app — your mobile carrier’s data agreement, for example.
  10. Apple may enforce this section. Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and on your acceptance of them Apple has the right — and is deemed to have accepted the right — to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

15. No warranty

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that it will meet your requirements.

16. Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Juscribe is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or business interruption, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service — whether or not we were told such damages were possible.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

17. Covering our costs

If someone brings a claim against us because of how you used the Service — content you put in it, something an agent of yours did, or a breach of these terms — you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it, including legal fees. We will tell you promptly about any such claim and let you take part in defending it.

18. Law, and how we handle disputes

Talk to us first. Before either of us files anything, the one with the complaint emails the other describing the problem and what would fix it — for you, [email protected]. Give it 30 days. This is a requirement rather than a courtesy, and almost everything ends here.

Small claims. Either of us may take a qualifying claim to small-claims court instead. Nothing in this section stops that.

Governing law and venue. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of them will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Sacramento County, California, and both of us consent to that jurisdiction.

Claims are brought individually. You and Juscribe each agree to bring any claim only in your own capacity — not as a plaintiff or class member in a class, collective, consolidated or representative action, and not on behalf of other users. No court may consolidate more than one person's claims without both sides agreeing.

This does not apply to a claim for public injunctive relief, which California law does not permit anyone to waive in advance. If a court decides the paragraph above cannot be enforced for a particular claim, that claim is separated out and heard on its own; the rest of this section still stands.

There is no mandatory arbitration here, and that is deliberate. Disputes go to court.

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When a change is material we will revise the date at the top and tell you through the Service or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Juscribe after that means you accept the new terms; if you do not, delete your account.

We will not apply a change retroactively to something that already happened.
